Shipping Policy

A legal disclaimer

This Shipping Policy describes how Cast Döküm handles the packaging, dispatch, delivery, and logistics of products ordered by our customers. Because we manufacture customized cast parts, our shipping processes are designed to ensure safe transport, predictable lead times, and full transparency throughout the delivery cycle.

1. Production & Lead Times

All products are manufactured to order.
Standard production lead times vary depending on:

  • Part complexity

  • Material specification (ductile iron, grey iron, etc.)

  • Mold and pattern requirements

  • Order quantity

  • Current production schedule

Typical production lead times:

  • Prototype or small-batch orders: 2–4 weeks

  • Serial production orders: 4–8 weeks

Customers are informed of their exact lead time at the time of order confirmation.

2. Shipping Methods

Cast Döküm ships orders using one of the following methods:

2.1. Domestic Shipments (Turkey)

  • Road freight (preferred)

  • Pallet or crate delivery

  • Customer-arranged pickup (optional)

2.2. International Shipments

  • Road freight

  • Sea freight (FCL or LCL)

  • Air freight (for urgent or small shipments)

  • EXW, FOB, CIF, or other Incoterms depending on customer preference

All international shipments comply with the packaging and material safety requirements of the destination country.

3. Packaging Standards

To ensure products arrive safely and without damage:

  • All cast parts are shipped on heat-treated wooden pallets, steel pallets, or custom wooden crates, depending on the product weight and geometry.

  • Protective materials (foam, separators, plastic wrap, corrosion-resistant coating if required) are used as needed.

  • Fragile or high-precision machined areas are protected using additional reinforcement.

Customized packaging is available upon request.

4. Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated based on:

  • Shipment weight and dimensions

  • Destination

  • Chosen transport method

  • Packaging type

  • Incoterms

Customers receive the shipping cost estimate during the quotation phase unless they choose to organize transport themselves.

5. Order Tracking & Communication

Once the order is dispatched:

  • Customers receive shipment details, tracking numbers (if applicable), and logistics documents (invoice, packing list, material certificates, etc.).

  • For large freight shipments, Cast Döküm provides proactive updates on transit status.

Our team remains available for support until delivery is fully completed.

6. Delivery Times

Delivery times depend on the shipping method and destination:

  • Domestic deliveries: 1–5 business days

  • Europe: 5–14 business days (road or sea freight)

  • Rest of the world: 7–30 business days

These estimates may vary depending on customs procedures, carrier delays, or force majeure conditions.

7. Customs Duties & Import Regulations

For international shipments:

  • Customs taxes, import duties, and clearance fees are the responsibility of the customer (unless otherwise agreed under Incoterms).

  • Cast Döküm provides all necessary export documents, including:

    • Commercial invoice

    • Packing list

    • Certificate of origin (if required)

    • Material certificates / spectrometer reports (if requested)
